Principal's Welcome

WELCOME TO ST JOAN OF ARC

Welcome to the community of St Joan of Arc Primary School, Haberfield.  We hope you enjoy browsing our Website and becoming informed about this delightful school. St Joan of Arc is a primary school with over 300 boys and girls ranging from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Our School Motto is “Forward With Courage” and this is an appropriate focus as we prepare the students to become active, responsible citizens within the community. We strive to ensure our students and each of us has a real sense of hope and that our actions promote peace, justice and joy within the lives of all people.

We are committed to our students and to our parish-school community. We act out of shared values and beliefs founded on the person of Jesus Christ. Our teaching policies are developed from researched and currently informed quality practice. A sense of colleagiality marks our team approach with consistent implementation of structures and procedures across the school.

The school aims to assist in the development of the full potential of each child within the atmosphere of a caring Christian Community. As a Catholic School the reason for our existence as a separate education system, it to facilitate the faith development of each child.  However, this is not done in isolation, nor is it something separate and added on to the curriculum; it is that which permeates all aspects of life within our community.

Since St Joan of Arc is a Parish School we strive to foster a sense of belonging to the Parish community.  This is done firstly through efforts to develop a strong sense of community within the school and through involvement in liturgical celebration in the Parish Church either as a school community or as part of the wider Parish community.  In this, as in all aspects of school life, we recognise the vital role of you, the parents, for it is your involvement in the life of the parish that will complement your child’s experience at school.  We see the school as working in partnership with you to ensure the best possible education for your child, now and for the future.

We look forward to meeting you or speaking with you to answer any further questions regarding St Joan of Arc Primary School.
